HITS No Olimpo Ares & OPI Vodka and Caviar

Here are the pictures I promised of HITS No Olimpo Ares.
I have on 1 coat of Ares over 2 coats of OPI Vodka and Caviar.
I decided that I wanted OPI Vodka and Caviar under because the HITS No Olimpo collection is pretty pricey for its amount, and I wanted to save it as much as possible.

From this picture below, you can tell that the bottle swatch and the on-nail swatch is basically the same.

The last picture is comparing Ares on-nail to Athena bottle swatch.
Athena definitely looks way more holographic than Ares.

I'm still very disappointed about Ares brush bristles! I'm waiting for your reply, llarowe! I think she's just really busy with hundreds and hundreds of emails that she's probably getting from everyone else. I shall wait a little longer before I send out my third email to her.

Anyway, If you're stuck between these two, I'd recommend Athena, not Ares.

Thank you for reading,
Grace.

03/07/12 OOTD

This is my outfit of the day for March 7th, 2012!

I was in the shower this morning and overheard some floor mates talk about how cold it was today,
so I decided that I should wear something warm, yet not too warm and stuffy-looking.
I know my outfit looks really fall/wintery, but it really was chilly and windy today here in Santa Cruz.

The look without the scarf

Top is a tan colored long sleeve from Gap (2011-12 Winter)
Skirt is a dark brown skirt from Forever 21 (2011 Fall)
Scarf is a Petunia colored scarf from J crew (2011 Fall)
Boots are just normal brown boots that I got from Gmarket.

And here are some blurry pictures that I kind of liked.

So this is what I wore today!

Enjoy,
Grace.

HITS No Olimpo Ares & Athena

I got my shipment from Llarowe a week or two ago for HITS No Olimpo Ares and Athena. Ares is a red holographic polish and Athena is a hot pink holographic polish. Originally, I was more excited for Ares than Athena, but when I received it, I was really disappointed with Ares. It isn't as holographic as I thought it was and the brush for the polish looked like it was dried and worn out. (I already contacted llarowe twice, but I haven't gotten a reply back yet)

But anyway, this is the comparison of Ares and Athena.
Picture on Left is with flash, Picture on Right is under natural sun light.

Do you see the crazy holo beam from Athena?! It's almost equivalent to OPI DS Original!
On the other hand, Ares is a little weak on the holographic glitters, but I'm thinking maybe Ares would look different on. I will be posting up some on-nail swatches of Ares soon.

Thanks for reading!
Grace.

A belated Valentine's day post

A very very belated Valentine's day post. I know Vday was long ago, but I just wanted to share what I did for my Valentine. I baked cookies!!! This was my first time making piping and flooding icing by myself, and it really was a hassle to have 6 jars of icing sitting on my tiny dorm desk. It was definitely a lot of fun, but I wouldn't do it again..at least  not in a dorm room. But here are some pictures:

My personal favorites:

And if you were wondering, I used this recipe for my icings:

Piping Icing:

3 cups of Powdered Sugar
1 egg (just the whites)
2 teaspoons of Water.

and for the flooding icing, I just added more water.
I'm not the best cook, but this worked for me!

Enjoy the yummy pictures!
Grace.

A Short Introduction

Hello, my name is Grace! This blog is about the things that I like to talk about while in my bath robe and/or when I'm sitting on the toilet (I know that might sound gross, but hey, I do my best thinkings in the bathroom). Basically, I'm just here to share my obsessions: makeup, nails, fashion, crafts, food, and more.
